And if so, what should the technician consider doing? Is more energy wise? She uses a light sheer diode device and has warned me that trying laser hair removal could stimulate even more hair growth. Is it worth the risk?
Answer: Lightsheer for Laser Hair Removal Hello Alina. The person you are speaking with may not be very knowledgeable. The first issue is that anyone using a laser in California has to have a medical license. Either Registered Nurse (RN and above), Physician, Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. So if you are speaking with a "technician" and they do not have a medical license then you are at a facility that is breaking the law and probably would not be a good place to use. With that said, you are a candidate for laser hair removal and the process should work very well given what we see in the photo. The person you spoke to is referencing a phenomenon that we have seen in the past with yag (1064) lasers and primarily middle eastern skin types. A diode laser (the Lightsheer) is different and when used properly will yield good results for the hair you are concerned about.

Answer: You are a candidate for laser hair removal Hello, you are a good candidate for laser hair removal. Although the hair is fine it is dark so the laser will be able to pick up on it just fine. The risk of increased hair growth is something rare that when it does happen it usually effects facial hair of people from middle eastern descent. Good luck!

Answer: Dark hair Thank you for your photo. That area appears that it will respond well to diode laser hair removal. The procedure only takes a few minutes but you should expect to have multiple treatments over several months to remove all the hair. Hope this helps! Johnson C. Answer: Laser Hair Removal I would agree your are a good candidate for laser hair removal. The darker the hair and the lighter the skin the better the result. It is true the thicker the hair the better the results, but with you hair you should be able to get a minimum of a 50 percent result and likely better with 6-8 treatments space 6-8 weeks apart. I would use a diode or alexandrite laser for best results, your skin looks to be on the lighter side per the picture. Of course your in person consultation is going to give you the best opinion.
