After undergoing Halo laser treatment, it's advisable to refrain from strenuous exercise and activities that induce heavy sweating for at least one week to minimize irritation and swelling. It's important to avoid exercise until your skin has fully healed, which typically takes around five days or more. Swelling is a common and expected side effect after treatment and may persist for 5–7 days, depending on the intensity of the procedure.
The average time frame would be 1-3 days after having the treatment. This can vary and you should always follow your doctor's protocol. If you have any swelling, you will want to wait until this has subsided and often times if a patient is running & sweating, this can cause some itching & stinging. If you start back running outside, remember your skin has had laser resurfacing and fresh new skin will be more susceptible to sun burn. Sunscreen & a hat is recommended and shorter distance if running in the sun the entire workout. We want to protect the results we just achieved.
We usually tell our clients that they can run or resume their exercise routine after two days. If you are going to run outside, be sure to wear a safe non-toxic mineral sunscreen and a visor or hat to protect your skin from the sun.
Great question! After very intense Halo, there can be a fair amount of flaking and this dead skin can hold sweat in the pores and be uncomfortable. If you are going to exercise, it is very important to gently cleanse and then remoisturize your skin using the regimen that your treating office gave you right after you exercise. Also, you want to keep sun off your treated skin for at least a week to get the best possible result, so run inside, or if you are outside, do it first thing in the morning or late in the day, wearing a visor and a heavy coat of a good physical (zinc or titanium based) sunscreen.
You can wait 2 days so the swelling can settle a bit after the Halo. Remember to wear a physical sunblock when you are out in the sun.
Thanks for the great question. I tell patients they can exercise as soon as they feel up to it. That is usually within 1-2 days after the procedure. The main thing to remember is that if you're exercising outside, to wear a hat or sunscreen as your skin will be extra sensitive to the sunlight after the treatment. Best of luck!~Dr. Sieber
This is an excellent question. Every patient is different, and the exact number of Halo treatments a patient needs depends on a whole host of factors, including age; skin type; overall extent of sun damage/pigmentation/textural changes; and the laser settings used. I find that most patie...
Depends on the State and Country. With all due respects, HALO is designed as an entry level superficial treatment with preset settings. This means it can be tailored to a minor degree to your skin concerns. I do own Scition devices, and I absolutely stand by the company, but the reality is this...
This is an excellent question! I generally recommend waiting at least 6-8 weeks between Halo treatments - this allows your skin to heal fully between treatment, and also allows us to see the initial results of your prior treatments. It takes several weeks to see the full extent of collagen st...
