What needs to be done to soften nasolabial folds? (Photo)

You can get fillers like Radiesse or Juvaderm injected directly into the NLF, however by augmenting cheek without changing your looks will definitely soften the nlf.

Thanks for your question. Excessive filler will make you face more puffy and rounded. It is difficult to sculpt a face by adding more volume to it. You can change the way that light creates shadows around your nasolabial creases by injecting a small amount of filler into the crease area. This will help soften the crease. I wonder if you will be happy, or notice any significant change, by adding fullness to your cheeks. Filler still follows the rules of gravity! 
Other options include surgical interventions, Ulthera, Thermi, microliposuction, etc. I would recommend using a doctor in your case. I would also recommend you consider using a surgeon who is able to offer you other treatments and less likely to only recommend filler treatments. Warm regards.

Thank you for your question.  It’s always difficult to give advice on these questions based on photos alone.  But I’d agree with your injector that supporting the cheeks is the first place to start when addressing the nasolabial folds.  Having said that, 4 syringes of Voluma is a fair bit.  I might recommend starting with a smaller amount, see what that does for you, then add more if need be. Also make sure your injector looks at both lateral and anterior cheek; I usually use Volift in the anterior cheek (in Canada). Hope that helps!  Good luck!

You are only 30 years old with decent cheek volume. I strongly encourage you not to get 4 syringes of Voluma in you cheeks. A single 1ml syringe of Juvederm should easily soften your nasolabial folds for 20% of the cost. You can always add more filler later if you are not satisfied.

You have to be careful not to do too much as it can change your look. You have reasonably good cheek bone fullness. Four syringes of Voluma filler may overfill you and distort your looks. You can look at getting Juvederm ultra plus one syringe of 1ml only. Start of by putting half a syringe in each nasolabial fold upper end and see how it looks. You can always add more.

It will be fairly easy to see how well you do with one vial of Juvederm into the nasiolabial folds.  What I like to do is inject a small amount and have the patient take a look at the results.  After about 5 injections with both of us agreeing to continue usually you can get a satisfied patient.  You can see how that goes and always come back for more.

your doctor is right that you will need to fill the cheek to support , stretch and decrease the nasolabial folds , also may need some in the folds too . But I am not sure if you would need that much volume? 

You have to be careful that you don't over accentuate the mouth/lower cheek area since it looks less natural when that occurs. The actual lip does extend to the 'folds' and under the nose; so also  be cautious about only 'filling the red part of the lips'. Having filler place 'high' near the outside of the cheekbone/arch will 'lengthen' the midface and prevent too much fullness adjacent to the nose. So artistic placement of filler will work for you
