It is important to understand that the LASIK flap can potentially always move after surgery. Although possible, after the first few weeks, it would take substantial trauma. I generally suggest that patients can exercise the day after their procedure but to use caution not to touch the eye or around the eye. That means that most would need to wear a sweat band or a hat to keep perspiration out of the eyes. I discourage power lifting that may cause extreme squeezing of the eyes for one week. No swimming for two weeks. After two weeks, most should be able to do most activities. If it is likely that you could be hit in the face, I suggest waiting at least a month. Eye protection is always a good idea.
Your surgeon is the best person to ask as there are actually several different types of LASIK procedures: some more likely than others to result in flap displacement. I allow my patients to engage in sports after one month (but only after their one month post-op visit).
