There should be no problem with LASIK surgery after rhinoplasy after the first few weeks.  A year is plenty of time to wait.

Can I get LASIK after 12 months of Asian rhinoplasty? If not, when will be the best time?

Latisse generally takes 6-8 weeks to take effect.  Be patient and your lashes should grow back nicely.

I used a water proof mascara for one week (I didn't realize it was waterproof at the time) and my eyelashes started falling out. The eyelashes that remain are brittle, thin and breaking. It's been two months since and my eyelashes have grown in a bit, but my lashes are still breaking and it seems like they are falling out more than before. I started using latisse last week also to help with getting my eyelashes back to normal.

Will my eyelashes return back to normal? Any suggestions and tips to help them grow back and stop breaking?

Accutane causes severe dryness of the eyes and even though only used once a week will have negative effects on your healing from LASIK for many months. &nbsp;The best answer is to avoid Accutane completely if considering LASIK. &nbsp;The longer that you can be off of it before surgery and I would wait until there are no longer any symptoms of dryness before starting again. &nbsp;In addition, you should have your LASIK surgeon evaluate you for dry eyes. &nbsp;If you were coming to see me, I would at least suggest Restasis to start preoperatively and recognize that it is likely that you will need plugs as well as other treatments. As for the second part of your question, both lasers should do an excellent job in treating your refractive error. &nbsp;There is no reason to pick a surgeon based on this choice. &nbsp;Pick the surgeon who is most attuned to the treatment of your dry eyes. &nbsp;

My right eye Myopia -6 and astigmatism -2.5 and left Myopia -7 and astigmatism -2. I am also looking for custom Lasik that will improve night vision. Which Lasik excimer machine is better for my prescription. I am also taking Isotretinoin(Accutane) once a week to control the oil on my face to prevent breakout. How long should I stop taking this medication before I can go for the Lasik? And after Lasik, how long I have to wait before I can take this medication again?

Which LASIK Excimer machine is better for me? The Allegretto wave Eye-Q 400 or VISX star S4 IR with Customvue?

The symptoms that you are describing sound completely normal for a one week postoperative course. &nbsp;Dryness is usual after LASIK and that causes slightly blurry vision and can also cause glare and halos at night. &nbsp;More than just tears may be necessary. &nbsp;You can talk to your doctor about the use of punctal plugs to keep the tears around longer and Vitamins to help with the dryness.

I had my LASIK done 1 week ago and the first few days after everything was perfect (vision and dryness was under control) then about 3 days after I suffered severe dryness which I knew was a part of healing. But drops didn't even help... The doctor had me switch brand and the new ones worked a lot better. Now today, 6 days after, I feel like my right eye is strained and a little less sharp in vision than when I first came out of the procedure... Is this normal? Will the fluctuation go away? Especially since my vision was perfect the first few days...my week follow up is tomorrow. It's just a little discouraging that it went from great to having issues pop up.

It is most common that one eye heals faster than the other in PRK. &nbsp;It is unusual for them to both heal at exactly the same pace. &nbsp;The frequent use of artificial tears will speed up the healing process and it is important to avoid rubbing of th eyes which can cause the new surface layer of the healing cornea to be wiped off. &nbsp;

Hi, I had my PRk done exactly 10 days back. Now vision in left eye is very much improved while that in right eye is till blurr. Is it normal or do i have to worry?

There are several treatments available internationally which have been used to change the color or the iris (colored part of the eye) including implants and laser treatments. &nbsp;Unfortunately, they have led to tremendously severe complications and no treatment is advised. &nbsp; Many people find that their light colored eyes turn somewhat darker with time. &nbsp;My son started with light green eyes as a child and as he has aged they are turning brown. A safer way to change eye color is with prescription colored contact lenses and this may be a way to enhance the color of your your blue or green eyes. &nbsp;Those with brown eyes can have blue eyes but rarely does that look natural.

Hi i have a Problem i used an eyelash serum , now my eyecolour is darker and i have Brown Spots in my Iris i have blue eyes ... What can i do ? Laser surgery ? Or will it fade with time ? Or any Other options ?

Chemosis is swelling of the conjunctiva. &nbsp;The conjunctiva overlies the white (sclera) of the eye and is usually clear or may be red in an infection. &nbsp;Essentially all patients who have LASIK get worsening of dry eyes for at least three to four months after surgery. &nbsp;For that reason, I generally recommend that patients use Restasis which should start before surgery and end when all dry eye symptoms clear. &nbsp;If tear drops seem to make chemosis worse, there may be an allergy to the preservatives in the drops and then preservative free tears should be used. &nbsp;When someone is multiple months postop LASIK and still has conjunctival swelling, I suggest frequent use of tear drops and recognize that rubbing or touching of the eyes should stop. &nbsp;The use of cold compresses should help reduce the swelling. &nbsp;If itching is associated with the chemosis, cold also can be helpful or ask your eye doctor for an allergy drop. &nbsp;If the chemosis continues, contact your surgeon.

I had lasik 4 months ago. A month after the surgery, I developed a chemosis on both eyes. I can close my eyes without problem. It's still here after 3 months and I don't see any improvement, even though at the end of the day, it's much better than in the mornings ; why is that? I still have a bit of dry eyes but it's bearable. Some comments say to use a lot of lubricating drops, but could these drops have caused irritation to my eyes and lead to chemosis?

Chemosis that is not going away.

It is never a good idea to get an foreign object in your eye, but super glue is no worse than many other items.&nbsp; The problem is that it can stick to the front surface of the eye or even glue the eye lid closed.&nbsp; It will eventually work its way off and the eye will return to normal.&nbsp; The use of artificial tears may make you more comfortable.&nbsp; A visit to an ophthalmologist may help to speed the healing process.

I Recently Got a Tiny Speck of Superglue in my Right Eye, Now I Have Blurred Vision in the Eye when I Blink. Is This Serious?

One of the potential complications from PRK is the risk of haze.&nbsp; Although haze is not common, it can occur.&nbsp; Factors that can increase that chance include dryness of the eyes, allergies and UV exposure.&nbsp; The medication mitomycin placed at the end of your surgical procedure can decrease the chance of haze production.&nbsp; My suggestion is that you use frequent preservative free tears during your healing period.&nbsp; You may also benefit from the use of Restasis which can increase your own natural tear production.&nbsp; Restais, though, takes at least a month to start working.&nbsp; Omega oils either from a fish source or flax seed when taking at 4 gm per day can also help with dryness.&nbsp;&nbsp; I strongly encourage you to avoid UV exposure by wearing sunglasses when outside even on a cloudy day.&nbsp; I suggest that all of my PRK patients take 1 gm of Vitamin C a day for at least a year to decrease the chance of haze production.&nbsp; Lastly, a second opinion is never a bad thing.&nbsp; I suggest that you find a surgeon with a large experience with PRK for their advice.

I'm 2 1/2 weeks post PRK and have experienced a very difficult and painful healing process. Days 1-3 were fine, days 4-now have been horrible. I have had my right eye scraped twice since my surgery due to hazing. He said that the cells are clumping abnormally and he doesn't like it. Because of my extreme dry eyes I have plugs in all my tear ducts and could not have the bandages in longer then 2 days before extreme pain kicked in. Is this normal? Is my right eye ever going to heal right?

I've Had my Right Eye Scraped Twice Since PRK Due to Hazing Because of Dry Eye. Is This Normal? Will my Outcome Be Affected?

It is important to understand that the LASIK flap can potentially always move after surgery.&nbsp; Although possible, after the first few weeks, it would take substantial trauma.&nbsp; I generally suggest that patients can exercise the day after their procedure but to use caution not to touch the eye or around the eye.&nbsp; That means that most would need to wear a sweat band or a hat to keep perspiration out of the eyes.&nbsp; I discourage power lifting that may cause extreme squeezing of the eyes for one week.&nbsp; No swimming for two weeks.&nbsp; After two weeks, most should be able to do most activities.&nbsp; If it is likely that you could be hit in the face, I suggest waiting at least a month.&nbsp; Eye protection is always a good idea.&nbsp;
