I had scupltra injected into my face and now one of my facial nerves when touched gives off a tingling, pulling numbing sensation is this longterm or temporary its been less then 72 hours since my injectionalso it looks like one eye is bigger then the other and one side is larger is itperhaps of swelling still or something else.Please help

I suggest getting a second opinion from someone who does a lot of sculptra injections.  It is likely you need some prednisone and gabapentin to calmn the nerve down.  It is likely it got irritated during the procedure.  If people do not use cannula injections this is a risk, due to needle damage or irritation on nerves.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Sometimes a nerve will get bruised during injection and will give painful sensations.  This will resolve. Most asymmetries will resolve and are mostly related to uneven swelling. I'm one of the few docs that uses cannulas for Sculptra and have less bruising and downtime than when using a needle.

Thank you for your question.  It is most likely that the needle bumped into a nerve when injecting.  This can happen as the injector is trying to get close to the bone and may not be using a cannula.  You should be fine after a few weeks.  You just need time to heal.Best of luck,Dr.  Peter Newen
