Thanks for your questionHair is controlled by hormones and therefore can only be increased by hormones. However when you wax hair from your body you stimulate the blood supply and therefore increase the amount of blood, oxygen and nutrients the root receives hence strengthening the hair and potential growth.Hope this helps.
I have not been able to find evidence that would suggest that threading or waxing after laser treatments increases hair growth. In fact, if you are doing laser hair removal, then the hair should be decreasing in number.Hope this helps,Dr. Gus Diaz
Laser hair removal is a semi-permanent way to remove unwanted hair. Lasering reduces the thickness and the number of hairs present. I have never heard of threading or waxing causing an increase in hair growth. Sometimes, rubbing an area constantly can cause hair growth in that area. I have also heard of laser hair removal paradoxically causing an increase in hair growth. If there is an increase in hair growth, my suggestion would be to treat through that increase to see if the laser will ultimately do its job of reducing the thickness and the number of hairs present. We suggest that laser hair removal patients have 1-3mm of hair growth prior to laser therapy. Remember that laser hair removal only works on dark hairs (brown or black), so waxing or threading will be good treatment options for those whose hair is any other color.
