When is it normal to start massaging breasts after augmentation?

Great Question!I think every Plastic Surgeon has their own regimen. I've seen advice from massaging the same day to never massaging. I think the answer is different because each surgeon does the operation slightly different and some feel more comfortable starting the massage process sooner than later.I will throw my two cents in. If there is little bleeding during surgery, light massaging can be started the next day. At two to three weeks, a more vigorous massage can be instituted. The point is to maintain the pocket that was created at the time of surgery. The massaging process may help this, although no formal scientific studies prove this.My advice is to follow your surgeon's recommendation.

 Recommendations as far as breast implant massage depend on a number of factors. They can be different for smooth or textured implants. I would advise discussing this with your surgeon. They know what was done and likely what is the best option for you.

Each surgeon has their preferences. I would follow the advice of your surgeon. Under the muscle, the movement of your arms will keep "massaging" the implants to some degree, but a more formal massage should be started when your surgeon recommends. They know how the pocket was, and how your muscles will react.

You need to run your question past your PS as ever PS has different views that are based on technigue and type of implants. For anatomical implants I don't recommend massage for 6 weeks. For round implants occasionally I would recommend massage depending on the position of the implants.
