In November 2013, I underwent liposuction to try and correct my uneven buttocks but was extremely disappointed with the result as the condition worsened and I now have loose skin on my right buttock with an unappealing crease line. I am looking for a surgery option that will make my buttocks symmetrical, well toned and lifted. I am not looking to enlarge my buttocks significantly; just to shape them symmetrically and get rid of the excess skin and sagging.
Answer: Young lady with prominent aging infragluteal folds; what to do? Thank you for your question and all the pictures you sent. Your question is a common one in my practice either as a primary concern or as a result or overzealous #liposuction to the 'banana rolls' (upper back or thighs where the thigh meets the buttock). Am I correct to assume you are the young lady with the pink sweater? If so, I would first point out that the shape of your buttocks now seem more square and your #PlasticSurgeon should aim at restoring an A-type buttock, as in your other 3 pictures (see my blog on Buttock Shapes). I would consider a small amount of liposuction in the lower waist region to help with the hour-glass curves (providing what I see on the pictures to the right is a slight excess of fat and not the body iliac crest). I believe a #ButtockImplant would help tremendously in restoring your buttock fullness and shape. We do have several shapes and sizes. I would recommend a round implant for you as to steer away from the square look. An implant would also lift your buttocks and make your infragluteal folds less prominent. Finally, fat grafting to –and across – the folds would also help to blend your buttock into the back of your thighs, hence blunting the folds - a technique we often do along with the #BrazilianButtLift. You do not have a lot of fat to give yet, a small amount of fat grafting might help. Hope this helps! Check my blog for more information.Dr Marc DuPere, Toronto board-certified plastic surgeon

Answer: What surgery should I undergo to make buttocks symmetrical and remove infragluteal fold? Hello dear! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. Based on your pictures, you are a good candidate for liposuction with BBL, and I think you'll get very good results. Liposuction allows your plastic surgeon to transform your entire shape. You can improve your back and flanks, and of course your buttock, to give you a beautiful heart shape. In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less. l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know. Good luck :)

Answer: What to do Whether to have a Brazilian Butt Lift or Buttock implants is a very common question for people seeking more curves. Both procedures are FDA approved and safe but have completely different approaches. The implants are inserted under general anesthesia and it is a one time procedure. A Brazilian butt lift involves liposuction then multiple injections of fat done under general anesthesia. This procedure feels a bit more natural and is done in several sessions so you build up to the desired look. Be sure to consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon when scheduling surgery.
