12 days post BA, extremely worried about getting capsular contracture. More pain in one breast that the other. Feeling anxious!

Hello, pain only 12 days postop would be far more likely due to the normal wound healing process than capsular contracture.  Some difference in swelling is also normal but close followup is needed to assure proper healing.

You are describing normal, subtle differences however it is best to follow up closely with your Plastic Surgeon after surgery in order to rule out anything problematic.All the best

Right now, you are very early on in the
post op recovery period and too early for capsular contracture to happen. It will take 3-6 months for you to feel comfortable
having implants in your body and for them to settle. This time allows for you
to physically and psychologically adapt to your new body image. There are many
variables that contribute to a breast augmentation's final result. Preop size
and shape, IMF location, location of the implants and type of implant. Patients
heal at different rates and each breast will sometimes heal at a different
rate. Rest, relax, recover and heal. Please Express your concerns to your surgeon so
he/she can examine you at this time.  Then reassess final result at 6 months.



The best way to assess and give true
advice would be an in-person exam.

You are way too early in your recovery to be worrying about CC. What you are experiencing sounds like asymmetric healing which is extremely common. However, share your concerns with your surgeon at your next post op appointment. Best, Dr. Nazarian

I think that  if  you have specific concerns regarding your recent surgery, you should contact your surgeon to discuss them. Best of luck.

Thanks for your question and congrats on your surgery.  Best advice it so keep your post-op appointment and discuss your concerns with your physician.  It is much too early for capsular contraction.  The first 3-6 months after breast aug are full of changes where the breasts will have some pain, dropping, and softening.  And each breast may do this after different times.  Relax and take care of you for now :)Cheers and best wishes!Steven Camp MD#HappyCamperMD 

You can relax for now. There is no way you could have capsular contracture this early after the procedure (it would take several months for the capsule to fully develop). Of course, if you are worried and your breasts feel different than before, you should get in touch with your surgeon for a quick check, to exclude any other possible problem.
