Hello, some surgeons do not provide any postoperative bra to their patients, and there is no consensus whether they are necessary. I do provide a bra to my patients but if is uncomfortable I am not worried at all if they remove it. I have not noticed increased complication rates in these patients. That stated, if you are concerned you could notify your surgeon.
I would first ask your surgeon what you should do. I would recommend going to your local sporting good store and try some on. For my patients, I like the kind that zips in the front.Best Wishes,Nana Mizuguchi
Your surgeon is in the best position to answer your questions based on his post operative preferences and guidelines. If you are required to wear a compression bra your surgeon should be able to order a bra to fit you from their supplier. Compression garments come in a range of sizes to fit all shapes and sizes. Discuss with your surgeon.
It would be best to ask your surgeon his/her opinion. In general, I believe that the bra worn postop is unlikely to directly affect the outcome. I tell my patients that if they don't like their postop bra, it's fine to wear another comfy bra. I've had many patients who liked the Genie bra and the Coobie bra. Most women feel most comfortable wearing a soft stretchy bra (with at least moderate support but no underwire) for at least a month or two after surgery. In short, comfort is key, and the bra does not create the result.I hope that helps, but do call your surgeon's office and check in.Best wishes-
I recommend my patients purchase a sports bra that is snug to wear after surgery and one that zips or buttons in the front is best. Best of luck!
This would really depend on the preferences of your surgeon. Personally, I do not even ask patients to wear a bra after breast enlargement, as the benefits provided are quite questionable. Best course of action would be to get in touch with your surgeon and ask directly.
Hello, aside from wearing a good support bra and avoiding strenuous or jarring activities until your breasts are well-healed, I don't know of other conservative measures to prevent this problem.
Large heavy breasts whether from your own breast tissue or from large implants can exacerbate your neck symptoms. You can certainly remove or replace your implants with smaller ones. A breast lift may also be helpful with either choice if your breast are sagging as well as too large.
Natural feel is not the only thing women care about. The FDA approved intact silicone gel implants as safe. However, if a gel implant ruptures the implant and any gel should be removed including the surrounding capsule (capsulectomy). IDEAL® IMPLANT offers women natural feel without the risk of ...
