Would it make more sense to have the tooth pulled and replaced with an Impant? Do you need a crown on the tooth that has the root canal? Then if thats the cases it looks like that is another $1199.00
Answer: Root canal therapy is very successful Yes, it is important to know that root canal therapy is only 1/2 of the treatment of a tooth, that a crown and build up is always (never say never, never say always) required after the root canal is completed. An implant is a great alternative, but may be overkill. Without seeing the tooth clinically and radiographically, it is impossible to say what is the "best" choice. The root canal will certainly be a less expensive choice at this point (even including the crown), but the implant may be a cheaper option in the "big picture."Remember, the fee for an implant for tooth #5 will include the extraction, possible bone graft, implant placement, abutment and crown. There may be fees for the diagnostic process and a surgical guide (I recommend them). If money is the main concern, opt for the root canal therapy.

Answer: No to implant if RCT is possible in yr case , go with that only. money doesnt matter, what matter is natural tooth structure. no artificial material replace natural tooth. so its my advice is go with RCT. and also remember , do not think implant is maintenance free....

Answer: Root Canal vs. Implant 10 years ago if you asked the same question, most dentistswould probably say to do the root canal and whatever procedurethats needed to be done to save the tooth. As the years go onit seems that more people are opting out of root canals and going straight to implants. Whether this is purely based on statistics I am not so sure. I still think its a good idea when the circumstancesare right to try and save the tooth. It is true that the long term successrate of implants is higher than root canal teeth but it does come with a cost.Remember root canal is not a surgical procedure like an implant so thereis some additional risk. You will have to have an empty space for some timeand you will need a temporary tooth replacement solution until the implant is restored. The cost of an implant is generally higher than a root canal. I usually elect to do an implant instead of a root canal if you have to do surgical procedures to save the toothsuch as periodontal crown lengthening or if someone mentions the workapicoectomy.

Answer: Root canal Having the tooth pulled and an implant done would be more costly and doesn't seem to be needed unless the tooth is badly decayed and has a large filling or deep decay above the gumline. If the tooth has only a moderate size filling, a crown on #5 may not need to be done, depending on your bite and the other teeth you have. Without an xray and more information, it is hard to be definitive but crowns aftyer a root canal aren't always necessary except on molars. Your dentist can evaluate the tooth and let you know if it needs a crown or not.
