What are the post INFINI RF negative effects?

I am very keen to go through the INFINI as it should have min. downtime such as redness and swelling but aft running through the forum, I read many cases of long down time for redness and swelling and permanent grid marks. - what caused them? Are the above effects preventable? - when can one start putting on makeup? - how long does it take for redness and swelling to go away? - are the above negative side effects common? Thank you.

After Infini treatment there is usually 1-2 days of swelling and 3-5 days of redness that goes away in splotches. There is occasionally bruising but that is much less common. Most people are back to normal by 3-5 days. About a third of my patients go through a dry flaky phase at day 3-4 and of those about a third are also itchy. Occasionally if you have active acne you will see a "purging" and have a break-out for a week or so, but when this resolves the skin become remarkably clear. I use a growth factor serum (Biopelle) which I have found speeds up recovery. I also recommend a post-procedure skin care regimen and make-up that supports recovery and decreases down time. Grid marks are rare and I have never seen them be permanent, though they do take longer to resolve on the neck.
My advice-- make sure it is a doctor or nurse performing the procedure, and make sure that person has enough experience with the device. The recovery should not be that bad.

Swelling, redness, grids, and infection. Swelling and redness are not side effects, they are expected outcomes, and will subside within 3-4 days, faster if PRP is used in my experience. Infection is rare, and your specialist will take a history of cold sores, staph infection etc.. to deal with any prophylactic abs. I have seen, AND also given grids- these occur when the PD is too long, power is too high, and treatment is superficial. Also occur due to user error with the needles taken out and pulse delivered. Also occur more on areas such as the neck, or if too much carbon build up on the insulated tips. They can also occur idiosyncratically - for no known reason. Takes a few months to settle down can be treat with low energy lasers such as 1927 Fraxel or C and B.
