At 5 days post-dermabrasion, is it too early to tell that there is no improvement from the procedure?

You might be given an ointment to place on the treated area for several weeks following the procedure. Most likely, at 5 days after dermabrasion, there is a lot of swelling--and healing to be done--at the treatment site.  In fact, it is quite reasonable to see continued improvement for months after dermabrasion treatment.  You would do best to follow your treating physician's post-operative instructions, and check in with him/ her about your concerns.  Good luck in your recovery!
