We have two Coolsculpting machines in the office, and routinely complete multiple cycles in one day on one patient - that means treating 2 areas during each hour, with a small bathroom break in between each hour. Most patients are comfortable with 3 consecutive hours (6 cycles total). We've had a few patients complete 4 consecutive hours, but they are definitely ready to get out of the office by the end of that time - it's just a lot to handle in one day, since you really can't move too much on the exam table while the machines are on. Yes, you can Coolsculpt the abdomen, waist, chin, and inner thighs all within the same day, but that is a minimum of 7 cycles - in our office, that would be 3 hours with 2 machines on you simultaneously, plus an extra hour for the 7th cycle (you may be able to find a clinic that can put 3 machines on you simultaneously!). There is no additional anesthesia, but since the targeted areas get numb during treatment, many patients take a nap while Coolsculpting. There is usually some soreness after the procedure that is well-tolerated by most, but there may be delayed pain for some, which is easily managed with Tylenol/Advil or even pain pills.
