Answer: Sick Before Breast Augmentation I am sorry to hear about your concerns prior to your day of surgery. Generally speaking, patients undergoing elective surgery should be at their optimal (or close to) level of health prior to proceeding. It is especially important that there be no compromise of pulmonary function or active source of infection present. Your plastic surgeon will be the only relevant resource when it comes to determining your ability to proceed at this time. Best wishes.

Answer: Sick Before Breast Augmentation
In my practice I would place you on antibiotics, 2,000 mgs vit C and repeat your WBC blood count. In most cases I would delay your surgery. But you NEED to contact your surgeon ASAP to discuss with him.

Answer: Cold Before Breast Augmentation
It is not uncommon for patients to call with the worry that they are getting sick right before surgery. As long as it is simply a sore throat and a mild cough, it is usually fine to proceed with surgery. If it progresses to a constant cough, productive cough, or fever, then best to postpone the surgery. The last thing you want to deal with is a respiratory complication after the surgery. Check with your surgeon, but a mild cold should be fine. I hope this helps.
