I received Botox and filler last week and will be on vacation in a few weeks. I will wear sunscreen but was curious if sun exposure will make my results leave quicker ? Or break down the Botox and Juvederm? Is that only if you go into sun after receiving injections the same day ? Thanks

Hi there, The sun will not have any impact on the longevity of your Botox treatment. Although, I would suggest that you wear sunscreen and a hat to further protect your skin from the potentially damaging effects of the sun. Have a great trip!

Very good question. Because dermal fillers and Botox are administered to the inner dermal layers, sun exposure should not affect your results. However, sun protection is always a must to avoid UV damage and premature aging. Have a great trip!

You will be fine. Sun exposure will not affect the metabolism of Botox or Dermal Filler. It will have no effect except making you look and feel great! Have fun on your vacation, and just enjoy. I do recommend sunblock though ;) Best, Dr. Giordano

Thanks for your question.  You are correct, sun exposure should not affect established Botox/ Filler injections that have at least two weeks to be incorporated.  Immediate and first week of injections could be affected by sun exposure.  No worries, enjoy your vacation. Wear sunscreen and a hat for prevention of sun damage! Best!

This procedure has a short recovery time with a couple of days being protected in the shadow you will be alright, The maximum effect of the Botox is from day 15 to 3 months. From then the effect will start to disappear day by day, you can expect the fillers go after 5 or 6 months.
