Can dysport cause light sensitivity in the eyes?

I am a 50 yr old female who has had dysport injections to around both eye areas, between the eye brow and the forehead 2-3 times per year for the last few years. Beginning shortly around the same time, I had begun to experience extreme light sensitivity. I went to an ophthalmologist who told me that I developed chronic dry eye and I have been taking rests sis every day with no real effect on my eyes. I still feel like squinting and closing my eyes all the time with no definitive cause. Help!

Thanks for your question and I am truly sorry you are experiencing theconcerns that you are having. We can tell you that this is not a common side effect from toxin injections so I agree with Dr. Rueckl that this is most likely not from the injections and that something else is going on. Check with a board-certified ophthalmologist and have them run the tests necessary to determine why you are having this problem.

Bummer but it sounds to me like this has to do with simple aging, and nothing to do with Dysport. Bodies often lose moisture as we age and many, many people need to get prescriptions for Restasis starting at about 50. It's purely aging.
