Question

After neck lift, there are ridges and sore bumps in cheeks where sutures were placed. What causes this and what do I do?

Thank you for your question. I suggest that you consult with your board certified facial plastic surgeon at the 6-week mark to review your recovery guidelines and results. There is swelling and minor bruising at the initial moments after the surgery.

You may still have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. To speed up healing, you can try adding hyperbaric oxygen, lymphatic massage, venus legacy or exilis radiofrequency treatments. To improve final results, we will often do a kybella and ultherapy about 4-6 weeks after neck lift to get more of an outcome. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
