Will prolonged standing affect my BBL?

Question

I will be returning to my office job 15 days after my BBL and I have an ergonomic standing desk. Will standing for 7-8 hours affect the results of my BBL? Am I at higher risk for pulmonary embolism?

Congratulations on your BBL procedure! As far as standing, I usually have my patients take two weeks off of work after their recovery (which it sounds like you plan on doing), and to limit sitting too much. I believe that standing at your desk is actually much more effective at preventing clots and embolisms, though I do recommend moving around a bit during the day as well. As always, consult your plastic surgeon and follow his recommendations for recovery and post-op activities – he is the one who is familiar with your particular health considerations and your needs in general. Hi thanks for posting. BBL is such a fantastic procedure. I typically have my patients limit sitting for 2 weeks, and wear a compression garment for 3-4 weeks. Going back to work 2 weeks later should be fine, although everyone is different in their recovery speed. Regarding standing, that should not affect your result in any negative way. As long as you are moving around a bit and not standing frozen in one place, standing is much better than sitting or laying down when it comes to preventing blood clot or pulmonary embolism.
