Private Nurse Necessary After BBL?

Question

I am getting a BBL on Jan 23, 2018. I weigh 130lb, height 5'1. I only want a subtle result - maybe 850 ccs injected. While the surgery is a ways away, I would like to begin planning my stay and such now. I have family in Miami and plan to stay with them while recovering. My husband and retired mother in law will be there to take care of me/run errands/etc. Should I hire a private nurse? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you for your question. A private nurse won't be necessary, and if you will have someone around to help you out when needed then there's no problem at all. After a liposuction and BBL procedure there is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery.  The later phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens. That said, you should have a physical therapist to help you with lymphatic drainage and massages. Always make sure to follow your surgeon's recovery instructions.

A private nurse is not necessary as long as an adult is with you at least the first 24 hours after surgery to take care of you. Good luck.
