PicoSure focus for facial pigment: how long should wait in between sessions? And how many passes and pulse for the face?

I usually wait until the pigment lightens again, which is in about 4-6 weeks.  Sometimes you may need to wait longer between sessions.  In general, treatment is usually 4-5 passes and number of pulses is about 3500 to 5000.  If you have a dark complexion, the number of passes and pulses is less and is subject to individual variation.

PicoSure is primary designed to be used for laser tattoo removal, but it proved to be an outstanding solution for pigmentation when used with focus lens. It stimulates collagen and elastin production. Depending on individual case, it is usually needed to have between 2 to 4 treatments. Chemical peels are not successful in treating pigmentation. Thank you for a great question.  The redness lingers if you have very sensitive skin but you can easily cover it up with make up.  Dark spots getting darker is a sign that pigment has been destroyed and now over the next few days your body will get rid out it by flaking off. Itchy feeling is due to your skin being dry and that is why I suggest to moisturize and remoisturize as often as necessary.  I usually wait 4-6 weeks in between session, never sooner, ecxpecially since your skin is so sensitive, I would wait 6 weeks. The number of pulses and passes varies  as it depends on the problem being treated, the severity of the concern and the skin type of the person.  It can be 2000 pulses versus 12000. All my treatments are completely customizable for each patient and definitely depends if we are treating scars vs pigments vs melanoma, vs fine line etc.  So far it sounds like the treatment was appropriate and you will love the results.   Hope this helps.
