How much lipo is covered by insurance for stage 2 Diep surgery? I need lipo on my stomach AND flanks!

How much fat will be harvested during a secondary procedure will be variable. It really depends on how much fat the surgeon feels will be required to fill any defect with Fat grafting. If the amount of liposuction necessary to contour the abdomen and flanks is greater than that utilized for fat grafting, then there may be an additional charge. It is important to note that if a very large amount of fat is required for grafting, then the fat grafting may be performed in stages limiting the amount of liposuction that can be performed in one procedure.

This question would best be answered by your plastic surgeon.  It is unlikely for insurance to pay for liposuction for purely cosmetic reasons. Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure and will not by itself be covered if it is unrelated to breast reconstruction process. 
Liposuction is used to procure fat for fat graft that is useful in optimizing the results of the breast reconstruction. In this predicament it will be covered under fat graft. There is no specific amount. It is whatever volume of fat that is needed to achieve the reconstructive goals in each particular case. 
When large amount of fat is needed, "love handles", "back roles", and  "saddle bags"  are often useful.

Thank you for your question.  The best idea would be to discuss these concerns with your Plastic Surgeon as they will be able to check directly with your insurance.  In most cases scar revision and liposuction for fat grafting to improve symmetry are covered for second stage procedures.  It is also very important to discuss your expectations with your Plastic Surgeon as well so that they can fully explain what can be achieved and what cannot.
