Trouble peeing after surgery. Is there anything I can do to help this?

I am 3 days post op from a tummy tuck with muscle repair. The biggest problem is I feel like o have to pee constantly and then I get drips of pee when I try to pee. The sensation never goes away, and so I'm getting up to go to the bathroom every 20-40 minutes. Is there anything I can do to help this? It's very painful getting up and even worse never feeling full relief after peeing.

Hello,This is something to contact your Plastic Surgeon about immediately and go to the nearest hospital. They will likely have to place a small catheter to help drain and keep it there until the bladder returns to normal function.I hope this is resolved for you soon,

HelloSorry to hear that you are having this problem after surgery.Urinary retention occasionally happens after this type of surgery and can cause the type of symptoms you are having. This can be due to the anesthetic, the pain medicine, the surgery , or a combination.Please call your surgeon right away and explain your symptoms. Often it is necessary to empty the bladder with a catheter, and sometimes the catheter needs to be left in for a few days to let the muscle of the bladder wall rest. If you cant contact your surgeon right away and this hasn't resolved today, go to a local ER or urgent care right away.I hope you feel better soon.
