Will I be able to keep my micro-bead hair extensions in during my breast augmentation surgery?

Question

I have 60-70 micro bead hair extensions in. They are cooper with silicone on the inside . These are expensive and super time consuming to put in/take out . I would really love to keep them in during my surgery and recovery process , will I be able to ? I’m sure this sounds silly, but my extensions give me confidence and make doing my hair easier . It’s much easier to get my hair into a braid or low pony tail with them in .

Thank you for you question. I do not see any reason why you will need to remove the extensions prior to surgery. I recommend discussing directly with your Board Certified Surgeon. Good luck with surgery!

You should be completely fine to leave those in your hair for your breast augmentation. The main concern with piercings or other objects would be the cautery used to stop bleeding may conduct the energy causing a burn. What you are describing shouldn’t be affected. Best of luckJosh Olson MD

Yes you will be able to keep all of the extensions in. There is some movement of the head and all of the extensions would need to be able to fit into a scrub hat. But otherwise it should be fine. Best of luck with your surgery.

Having surgery on the body will not effect your hair extensions at all.  So, no worries.
You will love getting breast implants if you get the right size and select a good board certified plastic surgeon.

Any metal can conduct the electricity used with the cautery unit.  If a cautery machine is anticipated, you should not have any "extra" metal or it can cause a burn..
