Botox to DAO muscle and platysma - do these muscles that depress the lower face become more active as people age?

Why do older individuals get a lip and jowl lift from botox to DAO muscle and platysma lift corners of mouth and jowls? Do these muscles that depress the lower face become more active as people age? Do these muscles become stronger than the muscles that elevate the mouth and jaw? Trying to understand why the mouth corners turn down with age.
