Question

20 years old, 5’7, 55kg, diagnosed with PCOS, barely any breast tissue. I wanted to know if it would even be able to have a breast augmentation due to the lack of breast tissue I have, or if I would be risking my health doing it, I’m severely self conscious about my breasts

You have true micromastia, a paucity of breast tissue, however, there is normal breast tissue there. I have seen outstanding results after Breast Augmentation for patients with a very similar starting point.

As long as you have no medical contraindications, here should be no reason you could not have a breast augmentation to create a balanced, proportional breast shape for you.  Having minimal breast tissue is not a barrier to breast augmentation, in fact it is the main reason people have breast augmentations.  Health risks are very minimum with the vast majority of patients having a single operation with long lasting results.  Your next step in gaining more understanding about breast augmentation would be to have a consultation with a Board certified plastic surgeon where dimensional measurements of your breasts could be done and implants which would give you a proportional, balanced shape and contour could be decided on between you and your plastic surgeon. As long as you are healthy, you are a candidate for augmentation.

The lack of breast tissue is not a contraindication but will necessitate more careful planning and implant selection. There may be limitations on the size that can be achieved in a single procedure.

As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
