Can you develop allergy to Sculptra?

Hi, Had Sculptra many times over the years but new Dr injected me & 4 days later I had severe hives over entire body. Fekt unwell.The paramedics were called due to my throat itching &chest tightness. Is it safe for me to try a tester of Scupltra as this new Dr used a numbing gel which I never had previously plus Lidocaine. I understand Scupltra can be mixed instead with saline. Thank you so much.

Although unusual, it is definitely possible to develop allergies to lidocaine, numbing cream or Sculptra even after multiple previous treatments. Nevertheless, from the symptoms you describe, you had anaphylaxis (which is a form of allergic reaction). Anaphylatic reactions usually occur within 1-2 hours of exposure to the triggering agent, so it is unlikely that the reaction you had 4 days later is from the products used during your Sculptra session. My advice is to consult your family doctor and go see an allergist specialist to sort out the cause and prevent future exposure. Best of luck!
