Hi, I’d like my lower eyelid to not droop as is seen in the attached picture of me. Would a canthoplasty be the best procedure? And is this a permanent solution? (As in going to last at least ten years). I was initially interested in canthopexy but was told this was a less ideal, less permanent solution. Many thanks!

Hi, azza321 ! Thank you for your question.
I evaluated your photo. There is a mild asymmetry between two eyes. These small asymmetries are very difficult to treat with canthoplasty or other techniques, and even may get more asymmetrical after surgery.
Hi, LG18! Thank you for your question and photo.
You have scleral show on both sides, predominantly on right eye. So a lower eyelid tightening with lateral canthopexy is the best option this problem. I can also see that you have a mikd volume defficiency on malar regions. Supporting of this...
Having said that, one needs to be very careful about what is being proposed. These surgeries are on eyelid skin and should not affect the actual lid margin. Your understanding is not right. Caution is advised. There is no substitute for a detailed, in person assessment.
