Can someone contract HIV from dermabrasion device?

Hi, Someone introduce me to his dermabrasion home device saying it is good treatment for skin. The device looked like a pin and has very fine needles that go into the skin (probably 2-3 mm long). it was painless as the needles was moving in a very high speed. I've tried it on my arm for like 10s after he showed me how it works on his arm. Can I contract infectious diseases (e.g HCV or HIV) by trying his device if he was HIV or HCV positive? Thank you

You can certainly contract HIV if using micro-needling device after someone who is HIV positive. I would suggest you to make an appointment with your physician to test yourself.

You certainly can contract HIV from a device in which someone who used it was positive since this device you are describing is the same as shared needles. ask him if he is positive and if so see your family physician for a baseline test
