Does Sculptra cause scar tissue? (Photo)

39 F. I'd like to reduce the marionette lines and mental crease, tighten jaw, and add subtle volume to cheeks. I was recommended Sculptra at a consult and was very excited about it until I read claims that it doesn't stimulate healthy collagen, only scar tissue. Could this be true? If so, are there other non surgical options for me? I'm not interested in hyaluronic acid based fillers or thread lifts.

Sculptra is a type of injectable filler that works by stimulating your body to make new collagen, adding volume to the area of injection. It's primarily composed of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biodegradable synthetic substance.The claims that Sculptra only stimulates scar tissue and not healthy collagen is not entirely accurate. Sculptra does stimulate the production of collagen, but the process can lead to the formation of a small amount of fibrous tissue, which is a normal part of wound healing and tissue remodeling. This should not be confused with scar tissue, which typically forms after injury or surgery and can be thick and irregular.Sculptra is generally considered safe and effective for the treatment of facial volume loss. However, like all medical treatments, it has potential side effects, including the possibility of small bumps under the skin in the treated area. These are usually only palpable and not visible.
