Chin scar after laser treatment – revision vs subcision/filler for width, depression & shine. Best option? (Photos)
I have a surgical scar on my chin that has been treated with 3 sessions of pulsed dye laser and 4 exosome injections, before that I tried fractional it made it horribly inflamed so doctor switched to PDL. I also have been using silicone daily since it was sutured The scar has improved slightly in terms of depression and highly in terms of softness when I touch it but I am still concerned about the appearance of width (it looks wider than a thin line), surface shine / light reflection and dynamic pulling when smiling At rest, the scar is mostly visible as a pink slightly sunken patch, but it becomes dramatically noticeable with movement and certain lighting. My main goal is not perfection, but a more refined, narrower scar that is less noticeable in normal lighting and with movement. [Is it useful to mention that when I push it from inside my mouth with my tounge it completely flattens and looks dramatically better and almost invisible?] I am honestly extremely distressed because of it. I have a few specific questions: Based on a case like this, would you recommend continuing conservative treatments or moving to surgical revision? Is there likely to be enough tethering to justify subcision? Would revision realistically produce a noticeably thinner line in this area (chin, high movement)? What is the risk of the scar widening again after revision? Is filler or nanofat injection after a subcision a good idea? I attached photos in different lightings, angles and expressions.
