Also do you have to have implants replace in the future? If so how long?
Answer: Recovery from BBL vs Implants? Actually the recovery is very similar. Although every surgeon has his/her own post-op instructions, here are the basics:First 2 weeks is the most challenging with swelling, tightness, and discomfort. Also sitting is prohibited for these 2 weeks. Patients may return to work after 2 - 3 weeks as sitting and basic daily activities become easier. For those whom work from home, return to work resumes much sooner if they can work standing, kneeling, and/or lying down reclined in the "dentist chair" position. After 2 weeks patients may sit for up to 30 minutes at a time then stand up or take a short walk for 15 - 30 seconds before sitting back down, 3 weeks for up to an hour, and at 4 weeks unlimited. At 3 weeks patients can resume upper body exercises while standing only, at 4 weeks upper body exercises while seated may be added. By 6 weeks, all restrictions are lifted as life nears normal again, all exercise (including squats and lunges) and sports may be resumed again but at low intensity.Unlike the fat that melts away after BBL or the risk of rupture from breast implants, buttock implants cannot melt away or rupture and thus are actually permanent and never have to be replaced.

Answer: Recovery for butt implants vs fat transfer Thanks for your post. I have the discussion of buttock implants vs fat transfer very frequently with my patients. Fat transfer has the advantages of being very customizable, meaning fat can be transferred exactly where and in exact amounts needed to meet your size and shape needs. It's also your own fat, which is a natural part of your body. When there is enough fat, fat transfer is the way to go. If you don't have enough fat for fat transfer, then consider implants. Implants are excellent at adding size and projection, especially in thin folks.Recovery is quite similar with both: restricted sitting for around 2 weeks, soreness and swelling. Buttock implants are often placed within the buttock muscle, and this causes some post surgery pain for several days. Fat transfer has donor sites, where liposuction is done, typically the hips, waist, abdomen. These additional areas benefit from improved shape, but these areas have some soreness and recovery as well. Bottom line is, recovery is fairly similar, both procedures work well, and your board certified plastic surgeon and help you decide what is best for you.
