I’ve had hylanex more than 9 times to dissolve the fillers but the fillers are still there. So, MRI with contrast vs without contrast: which is best to find out and see silicone injection in face?
Answer: Silicone in face MRI with or without contrast illegal silicone to face facial silicone removal expert problem with silicone Hello, you need an MRI with AND without contrast to determine if you have silicone in your face. The differential images produced by these 2 MRIs allows the radiologist and plastic surgeon to determine what masses are most likely to be silicone in your face. I specialized in silicone removal and subsequent reconstruction with fat grafting and/or implants. I am the lead investigator and founder of the Silicone Removal Institute. Since removing silicone is a big procedure, please seek an experienced, board certified plastic surgeon with significant experience in removing silicone. Do your research. Make sure they have performed many silicone removal surgeries and have the before and after pictures to prove it. Carefully examine their before and after pictures and check their reviews on RealSelf. If you cannot find an experienced, silicone removal surgeon in your neighborhood, consider traveling out of state if you must. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen. Answer: Imaging for Potential Silicone Injections Hi Beo555! Thanks for sharing your story. I can imagine how frustrating it must be to go through that many Hylenex sessions without seeing the results you hoped for. Here at my New York based silicone removal center, I've successfully treated hundreds of patients who were suffering due to silicone/biopolymer injections. While doing your research, it's best to look for a Board-Certified Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon who specializes in silicone or biopolymer removal (more specifically, facial foreign body removal). When it comes to imaging for suspected silicone injections in the face, the best imaging for any soft tissue disorder would be an MRI with and without contrast along with specialized silicone sequences (silicone protocol). Gadolinium contrast helps differentiate between tissue types and highlights inflammation or granulomatous reactions that often surround silicone deposits. It improves soft tissue resolution, especially helpful if you’re looking for migration or surrounding tissue involvement. These can identify silicone even if it’s been injected or has migrated — things that are often missed on regular MRI or CT. I am a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with a specialized focus on silicone and biopolymer removal. Over the years, I have dedicated my practice to safely addressing complications arising from these materials. Recognizing the unique challenges they pose, I developed an open excision removal process and reconstruction. This approach is designed to ensure the most complete removal possible while minimizing risks and optimizing patient outcomes. I'd be happy to see you for a clinical evaluation whether it be complimentary virtual consultation or an in-office appointment to discuss your options. We're here to help if you need us!
