Is it true that co2 laser is not good for Asian skin??

Question

I went to a doctor today, she said co2 is the best laser for acne scars, but unfortunately it just not good for Asian skin, because our skins is harder to treat. The only laser good for me is fraxel. I want to hear some opinions from different doctors. Thanks

I have done many co2 laser resurfacing on asian skin, you have to be prepared for the potential for hyperpigmentation.  However, long term you will need a series of treatments regardless of which laser and i find that a single co2 laser does very little for scarring as compared to a combination of fillers, tca cross, and nonablative laser or fractional RF like viva. I suggest seeing an expert in acne scarring who treats a lot of asian skin types.  Best, Dr. Emer.
