When should I stop Minoxidil before getting pregnant?

I'm taking Minoxidil for hair loss and we're thinking of having a baby next year, when I should stop using it?

Anytime before you begin trying to become pregnant should be fine. Consult with your doctor as there are occasionally exceptions to this rule.

Minoxidil should be stopped by most as soon as an individual is trying to conceive. It can be used up until the point at which one makes that decision.  In rare situations it is used up until the individual misses her first period, but that is only done on a case by case basis in my opinion (under recommendation of a physician).

I would tell my wife not to take ANY medication during pregnancy because regardless of what anyone tells you, you will never know what the impact will be on the early fetal development
