Missed the initial 30 day appointment to start Isotrentinoin (Accutane). Do I have to wait another 30 days before I can start?

I have moderate scarring acne. I've had this since I was 14. I'm 42. I have other skin issues as well. Ingrown hairs, idiopathic itching. It's very depressing. I've never dated AR felt confident. I started the process of going on Isotrentinoin, but due to being a traveling histotechnician, I missed the initial 30 day appointment. It's been 2 months since my first visit. I am on birth control. I'm fed up with my skin. Thanks

You probably will have to wait another thirty days to start as you might have been dropped out of iPledge because you last visit was two months in the past.Contact iPledge and your doctor's office and get back to treatment.  You'll feel much happier when your face looks better.

The doctor may need override to authorize the dose for a month .The doctor will need to document that you are not pregnant.

If you miss your original window then you are either on a 19 day or 30 day hold for the program depending on if you have ever filled a prescription before or not. If you contact the office they can look in the iPledge system on their side and give you the exact date that you can get your prescription for the system. When you are a female of child bearing potential, per the program, is it VERY important to make the office visits and fill your Rx's in the right amount of time. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and cannot be held as true medical advice, but only opinion.
