A possible procedure to consider that would provide a more permanent result would be a surgical lip lift. The procedure gives the upper lip a lighter and more defined appearance, while restoring a more youthful facial balance around the mouth. Typically, the Incisions are hidden under the base of the nose in a natural crease and become nearly imperceptible after a few months. The initial healing period is generally 1-2 weeks, but you will be able to enjoy the results around 2-3 months. Going forward, I would recommend you to complete multiple in office consultations with board certified facial plastic surgeons to discuss your aesthetic goals. I would highly recommend getting a formal evaluation with and treatment from a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist and expert in facial sculpting. Thank you for your question. A lip implant would be a permanent option. They are silicone and can be placed in less than an hour, as well as removed easily should you not like the outcome.

The technique I recommend is a lip lift. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. The procedure takes about 1 hour to perform under local anesthesia and costs $3,000.
