I am trying to figure out how much filler to get in my first session so I have an idea as to who I should go to for this. I feel like my cheekbones are non-existent and I don’t think I have too much volume loss. I want a more contoured lookstill being youthful/natural and don’t want puffier cheeks. Just a better version than what I have now and not be too sharp. How many syringes would give me my desired look? I was looking at somewhere between .5 and 1 (per cheek) using Voluma to start.
Answer: Syringes It's hard to tell without knowing more about what your desired look is. Generally my recommendation is go more conservative bc you can always add more lateral. If you were my patient, I would probably start with half a syringe total, let you look, then see if you want to finish off that syringe in the chair that day or come back later for more.

Answer: Determining cheek filler amount needed When considering cheek fillers, especially for the first time, it's important to approach the process with careful planning and consultation with a professional. Here are some key points to consider: Initial Consultation 1. **Professional Assessment**: Schedule a consultation with a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. They can assess your facial structure, skin type, and specific aesthetic goals to provide personalized recommendations. Amount of Filler 2. **Typical Volume**: For a natural enhancement and to avoid an overly sharp or puffy look, starting with 0.5 to 1 syringe per cheek of a hyaluronic acid filler like Voluma is a reasonable approach. Voluma is specifically designed for deep injection in the cheek area to provide volume and lift. 3. **Incremental Approach**: It's often advisable to start with a smaller amount (e.g., 0.5 syringe per cheek) and gradually add more if needed. This approach allows for better control over the final result and minimizes the risk of overfilling. Desired Outcome 4. **Natural Contour**: Communicate clearly with your injector that you want a natural, youthful contour without excessive sharpness or puffiness. Showing reference photos of your desired outcome can be very helpful. 5. **Avoiding Overfilling**: A conservative approach helps in achieving a subtle enhancement and reduces the risk of looking overdone. Follow-up and Adjustments 6. **Follow-up Appointments**: Plan for follow-up appointments to evaluate the results and make any necessary adjustments. This staged approach ensures you achieve the look you desire without the risk of overcorrection. Choosing the Right Professional 7. **Experience and Expertise**: Choose an experienced injector who specializes in facial aesthetics. Look for professionals with good reviews and before-and-after photos that align with your aesthetic goals. Final Advice - **Patience and Realistic Expectations**: Understand that achieving your ideal look might take more than one session, and the final result can take a few weeks to fully settle. - **Safety First**: Prioritize safety and the injector’s expertise over cost. High-quality results from a skilled professional are worth the investment. By following these guidelines and working closely with a qualified professional, you can achieve a natural and enhanced contour to your cheeks.
