Dermal fillers after effect? (Photo)

Question

Is it normal to have some superficial scarring after fillers. After my first fillers my skin created a very thin scab over the injection sites and once it peeled off, there are light scars in the areas where I received injections. Is this normal?

Shrinkage of the tissue at and around the sites of injection may occur. This results in a white depressed area, or small scar like areas.It is normal for the injection areas to be bruised and may take 7-10 days to fade. To help the injured skin heal, use petroleum jelly to keep the wound moist.

Chemical burns? Sometimes the topical anesthesia used can result in appearance similar to the one in the pictures, but unusual that has a round shape. The best person to ask is the injector, and if not satisfied go and get a second opinion. Best of luck.

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you had at your injection sites.  The needle used for filler injection is very small and does not typically leave a scar.  I encourage you to return to your injector for an evaluation and to discuss options to improve the appearance of the area.
