Hello,I have a lip like the one in this pic, but when I go to the doctor, I want to go with this photo and the information I will get from here so that I can get a clear treatment. Also, I have a muscle tensiocn not only in my lip but also on the right side of my face, so there is an asymmetry only on the right side of my face:i always feel a muscle tension on my right forehead, around my right eye, on my right upper lip. Can this be relieved by Botox will apply only to the right side of my face?
Answer: Can Botox Address Lip Asymmetry and Facial Muscle Tension? Hello, Thank you for your question and for providing a detailed description of your concerns. Botox can indeed be used to address facial asymmetry caused by muscle tension. It works by temporarily relaxing the muscles, which can help in balancing the appearance of your face. Given your description of muscle tension on the right side of your face, including your forehead, around your eye, and your upper lip, Botox could potentially be an effective treatment. It is possible to apply Botox selectively to the right side of your face to target the specific muscles that are causing the asymmetry. However, it is important to consult with a qualified and experienced practitioner who can assess your individual case in person. They will be able to evaluate the muscle activity and determine the appropriate injection sites and dosage to achieve the desired balance and symmetry. When you visit your doctor, bringing a photo that illustrates your concern can be very helpful. Make sure to discuss all the areas where you feel muscle tension and asymmetry so that your doctor can create a tailored treatment plan for you.

Answer: Muscle tension Botox can be used to address tension and asymmetry, however it is important to realize this could have other side effects. Botox works by inhibiting the injected muscle's ability to contract. While this could alleviate tension, it may also lead to asymmetry of the face. It's best to visit with an experienced injector for an evaluation.

Answer: Botox Botox can potentially help relieve the muscle tension and asymmetry you are experiencing on the right side of your face, including your forehead, eye, and upper lip. Botox works by temporarily relaxing the targeted muscles, which can help reduce the tension you’re feeling and correct the asymmetry caused by overactive muscles. However, it is not the only option. Consult with a specialist in your area as there might be longer term solutions available to address the cause better such as dermal fillers, threads and even facial excercises and physical therapy.

Answer: Please do not waste your time and money trying to accomplish this with Botulinum toxin. It is improbable that botulinum toxin will alleviate the tension you are feeling in your face but this actually more likely than the change in the lip you are looking for. If you are serious about changing the lips to make it more balanced, Restylane filler is likely your best option. I am not suggesting this before and after image was not achieved with a botulinum toxin treatment. What I am suggesting is that this type of result is highly improbable without filler which is much more likely to reliably achieve this sort of result. These are not images of your actual lip. There is no substitute for an actual in person consultation.

Answer: Unlikely a reliable choice. And experienced Botox injector could theoretically try several units of Botox just above the droopy lip, however, this could lead to lip asymmetries while speaking. Thank you for this question. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph
