I am 3.5 months post-op BL/BA. I am really happy with my results and I am concerned that starting running again will affect the lift. I went from a saggy 34d to a 36ddd. I have run with supportive bras, usually 2 bras for extra support. How will the impact of running affect my results? Will running 3-5miles everyday make my breasts sag again over time? Should I find a new form of cardio that does not cause so much bouncing?
Answer: Running after BA/BL Thank you for your question. My advice is if you can find another form of cardio that you enjoy as much as jogging you should not run. Otherwise run with very supportive bras. You will probably re-sag quicker if you run. Good luck. DrMaz

Answer: Running after a breast lift with augmentation I generally recommend waiting at least 6 weeks after surgery so by this time you are fully recovered and should be able to go back to your regular routine without any limitations. That being said, with DDD cup breasts, running and other high impact activities are likely to increase your ptosis/sagging over time even with very good support. Many of my patients are avid long-distance or marathon runners and we take this into consideration when deciding on implant size before surgery. You may want to consider a cario option that is lower impact for better longevity of your lift.

Answer: Running after breast lift with implants? Please keep running. It is wonderful that you run as you do, and your surgery will not be affected in any way whatsoever. The only things that could possibly cause your breasts to sag again would be pregnancy or significant weight change (10% of your body weight). Also, it's okay to wear whatever you wish while running. For more information on this and similar topics, I recommend a plastic surgery Q&A book like "The Scoop On Breasts: A Plastic Surgeon Busts the Myths." Hope this information is reassuring and good luck.

Answer: Running after breast lift with augmentation I advise my patients to continue their physical activities after they are fully healed from surgery. Running should not change your breasts significantly over time with proper support. Breasts will continue to age with or without breast implants. In my experience, pregnancies and weight changes affect breasts more than exercise. For the best long term results, I recommend wearing supportive sports bras, some patients even feel more comfortable wearing two bras while exercising. Do what feels comfortable to you and continue your healthy lifestyle. I would also suggest discussing these questions with the board certified plastic surgeon that performed your breast surgery.

Answer: Running after breast lift I always want for my patients to continue to enjoy an active lifestyle once they are recovered from surgery. At this point in time, you are well healed. I would not expect for you to have any significant compromise in the quality of your results because of running. Certainly your breasts will continue to age normally, but with good support you should be able to remain active.
