Hello doctors, thanks in advance. My breast lift with implant is not dropping, my nipples are facing down, I don't understand cause I did a lift, are they going to look up like they should and when will my implant drop?
Answer: It's Been 4 Weeks - Why Haven't My Implants Dropped Yet? Thank you for this excellent question. The real problem here is that implants dropping is a misnomer and a misunderstanding of what really happens with silicone and/or saline implants below the muscle.Because of the beautiful suture lines you have on the outside of your breasts, I am going to make the assumption that your plastic surgeon placed the implants below the muscle, which for many reasons is the best way to go. It appears the bottoms of your implants are touching the bottom of your breasts, therefore your implants don't have to drop anywhere. It is the fluid inside the implants which need to drop, and because the fluid is tightly sealed within a silicone bag, and because gravity only goes in one direction, and because skin stretches (ask any woman who has had a pregnancy), and because the coefficient of friction is so great in the subpectroral space, the fluid will drop, the skin below your nipple areola complex will stretch out, your nipples will rise, and the fluid and the swelling above your nipples will drop down, and more than likely, you will have an excellent result which you will be very happy with. However, it will take about another month or two.Best wishes for a Happy New Year!

Answer: Breast Not Dropped at 4 Weeks Post-Op HEALING AFTER BREAST SURGERY, AUGMENTATION, LIFTS1. pain is variable2. it takes 2-3 months for implants to settle and muscles to relax3. celebrex, motrin, and muscle relaxers can help4. massage and stretching may help5. everyone heals differently6. 4-7 days off from work is commonHEALING OF SENSORY NERVES: Tingling, burning or shooting pains, which will disappear with time and should not alarm you, indicate regeneration of the sensory nerves. If these sensations cause pain, repeated, local self-massage helps.ASYMMETRY: The two breasts commonly heal quite differently. One breast may swell more, feel more uncomfortable, or have a different initial shape. After complete healing, they will be more similar and natural. You must have patience, but if this causes concern, ask questions of the doctor or the nursing staff.SHAPE AND CONTOUR: The final shape of your breasts will start to look its best approximately three (3) months after surgery. It takes time for the skin and muscle to stretch and relax around the new implant. The breast will often look higher, firmer, and “less natural” in the first three (3) months. It can take up to a year to see your final result.FOLLOW-UP EXAMS: These are generally done in 1 week, 2 to 3 weeks, 3 to 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months to 1 year, and 1-2 year intervals. In our office we include all of your follow up appointments in the initial surgical fee. While it takes some time for both the implants and incisions to heal, if you have questions or concerns about the healing process your own plastic surgeon will have the best answers and solutions. If healing is progressing as it should, then follow-up appointments are best and the area can be examined to make sure that everything is going well or if additional work is needed for correction or revision. Good luck!

Answer: 1 month post op, some advices: Thanks for the question. In my practice, after performing a BA I recommend to my patients to limit the movement of the arms for two weeks. After that, you can move your arms taking care and always with common sense. In this regard, it's not advisable to carry heavy weights to prevent the implant out of position, and allow the formation of the physiological capsule around the implant, also to avoid pain and breast swelling. Kind regards

Answer: Things can settle some more over the next couple of months. Your nipple position does appear a little low, however, doing a lift+aug better to be a little low than too high, which is a problem you and the surgeon cannot easily recover from. IF after all the dust settles in 5-6 months and your nipples are in a better position, your surgeon can easily do a small revision to lift the nipples a little higher, but if they were too high=bad problem. Be patient.
