I'm 3 days post Lipo of abs, flanks, inner and outer thighs, banana rolls, and fat transfer to butt. I love the snugness of the garment, I have only taken it off to shower. I'm very swollen, so there are impressions along my upper stomach as well as my hips and outer thighs all way down from the inside fabric of the garment (that covers the zippers). Will the impressions permanently affect the areas these first few days? I spent so much money and am afraid of all that could affect my results.
Answer: Will lines from garments leave permanent indents? I would ask your plastic surgeon about garments and the duration of wear, because each plastic surgeon will have a different protocol. The patients who tend to have healing issues with larger volume liposuction procedures tend to be the ones who do not wear the compression garments at all, wear them very inconsistently, or do not wear them snugly covering all areas of liposuction. I prefer adjustable garments with multiple bands so that tension can be adjusted. The key here is the size and the ability to tighten the garment, not the brand or make.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Compression Garment Question-Ask Your Doctor & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave I recommend following up with your Doctor to make sure your compression garment fits. I have my patients wear customized compression. For liposuction after care, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. Best, Dr. Emer
