Can a linea nigra be removed permanently with lasers or any other type of cosmetic treatment?

I've had a linea nigra for many years, since my teens. I was diagnosed with PCOS in my early 20s. I'm a 31 of hispanic descent with light caramel skin. The line is about half a centimeter wide and is pretty dark. I've tried creams and lotions but nothing has worked well. Will a laser (IPL or other) or acid peel work to remove it? Would this treatment be permanent?

There is no cure for this but there can be improvement with combination skin lightening and lasers.  Best, Dr. Emer.

I like a Nanosecond laser for treating hyperpigmentation- we use the RevLite SI laser at Las Vegas Dermatology- a Q switched Yag laser- it is the same laser we use for tattoo removal- expect 10-12 treatments.  Find an expert who is used to dealing with skin to treat your condition.

I would suggest test spot to see efficacy of q switched yag.This is usually used for tattoo removal.This is effective for hyperpigmentation.
