In general, swelling after surgery can result in asymmetry and irregularities. 70% of the swelling resolves after the first 3 months and the remainder goes down over time. It can take 18-24 months to see the final result of the surgery. After 4 weeks, you will still be swollen. While healing, it is important for the patient to give it time. Factors that influence swelling are as follow:1. Whether the procedure was a revision2. Whether the procedure was open or closed3. Whether tip work was performed4. Rasping the nasal bones can cause a significant amount of soft tissue trauma and swelling. This close to the surgery, I would say it is still likely swelling. The skin is much thinner in that area and the swelling can feel firmer than in the tip. The bone can also have an inflammatory reaction called osteitis which should decrease with time as well but can lead to new bone formation. i would contact your rhinoplasty surgeon for their specific advice.
