Is jaw pain normal after receiving permanent veneers? What would be the next steps if I have to go back in?

It sounds like your veneers have changed your bite. Call the doctors office and ask to be seen to see if you may need them to adjust how the teeth fit together. This can happen while you are numb and can not feel if the bite is correct. The adjustment is very simple to do.

Porcelain veneers placed can effect and change your bite and occlusion, best is to see your treating dentist for possible veneers adjustment, and removal of high spots and get an evaluation.

Have the dentist check your bite. You don't want anything that causes pain in your jaw. If your jaw is sore from being held open for a long procedure, that's one thing. If it's actual pain, you need to have that checked out as soon as possible.

If you are having pain in your jaw., you should make an appointment with your dentist.  The first thing he should do is to check and adjust your bite if necessary.   The veneers may feel fine when you bite straight down, but they could be causing a deflection of your jaw when you move your teeth side to side or front to back when they are together.  Once your bite is corrected, you should have your dentist make you a night-guard.  These steps should help get your jaw back to normal and relieve your pain.
