It's too soon to tell what your final results will be. Swelling will last 1-2 weeks after injections. Icing, cold compresses and ibuprofen can give improvement. Keep in mind, it can take several months for final results with Bellafill. If you're unhappy with your final results, 5/FU steroids and radiofrequency treatments can give improvement. See an expert. Our treatments use combination therapy to improve complications associated with Bellafill, a filler with permanent attributes that can cause granulomas, uneven contour, and soft tissue reaction. Our office focuses on granuloma reversal in cases where an incision may leave permanent scars. The reversal is performed with Kenalog IIT combination therapy, fibrous release, and HIDEF fractional RF to help break up the nodularity. Schedule a consultation for surgical removal if the Bellafill is located in the eyelids, lips, and lower face. Midface Bellafill is difficult to surgically remove. At this time, I'd just wait it out and discuss the swelling with your doctor. This can be treated with steroids, ice, and elevation. At least wait a couple weeks to see how it settles down. Final results take 3-4 months to start and maybe up to 6-9 months to fully appreciate. Bellafill can be remove without surgery. Picking the right physician for Bellafill injections is the key to success.
All cosmetic proceedures have some degree of "healing time". Because of this, assessing results one day after treatment is often misleading as the final outcome takes some time. All filler treatments will have a degree of swelling that can last from 2 days to 2 weeks. Your swelling will gradually improve over time but you can aid the healing process with cool packs and elevating your head on two or three pillows while sleeping.
Hi there. I would give the filler a chance to settle down. Bellafill can not be dissolved like the hyaluronic acid fillers. Bellafill is primarily composed of bovine collagen which dissolves within 3 months and the PPMA product which helps to stimulate and build your own collagen over those 3 months. A day after treatment it's difficult to say what the final outcome will be due to swelling, which can be asymmetric initially. I would give it a little time and discuss this with your treating physician. Best of luck. Dr. Gupta
Bellafill filler can cause nodules and chronic edema, soft tissue reaction, and longterm problems. We specialize in the removal of Bellafill on the face and see patients with old and new PMMA filler problems. Bellafill will eventually form scar tissue around the permanent filler. We recommend a...
Bellafill may be the best solution there is for under eyelid hollows. It is far more predictable than fat injections and lasts a long time (it is essentially permanent) and is your own tissue so you you do not even know it is there. Finally, the safety profile for Bellafill (number of...
Filler migration and granuloma formation can cause longterm problems with Bellafill and Artefill fillers. This is similar in patients who have Artecoll and PMMA fillers. Longterm filler complications include migration, edema, chronic swelling, and nodularity. If patients have filler migration or...
