Bodytite (necktite/facetite) and Thermitight seem very similar. Why does Thermitight have so many negative reviews?

Lot of people end up with MORE loose skin and too much fat destruction from Thermitight but less so with Bodytite. Any reason for that? Because am considering Bodytite to tighten skin but have already ruled out Thermitight because of too many bad outcomes attributed to it (and in a few photographs doctors use showing before & after the patient plainly looks WORSE in the after photo...)

I appreciate your question. While the technology associated with BodyTite and ThermiTight is very similar, there are subtle differences between the two devices. That said, if the procedure is performed correctly by an experienced, board-certified physician, you should not see additional skin laxity after the treatment. Inexperienced providers may place the probes too deep, eliminating some fat cells to create looser skin as fat is dissolved. However, qualified doctors know how to place the probes to tighten skin without affecting the fat tissue below. I use ThermiTight regularly in my practice for all areas of the body with excellent results.

Thank you for your question. While both devices are injected radio-frequency energy, there are differences. ThermiTight is a uni-polar device meaning the energy is transmitted from the tip of the cannula in all directions. This will result in some destruction of fat, particularly if the probe is inserted deeper into the fat level. If the skin temperatures are not raised significantly enough (technique driven) then there will not be adequate skin tightening.While ThermiTight is uni-polar RF, the FaceTite/BodyTite RF energy is bi-polar. This means the RF energy travels between two poles. In the case of this device, one pole is one the surface of the skin and the other pole travels beneath the skin. Thus, the energy is directed to pass through the skin. There will also be fat destruction which is again technique driven as to the degree.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.
