Used to Botox in USA, is Bocouture comparably safe in EU?

Hello, I'm an American living in Europe and used to getting Botox in the U.S. I am looking at a doctor here who offers Bocouture, which I've never heard of. Can anyone give me their insight on this brand of Botulinum Toxin A? I usually get 3-4 units for "orange peel"chin. Thanks!

Hello, thank you for your question. Bocouture is a Merz product that is an European brand of a botulinum toxin product marketed in the United States as Xeomin.  Xeomin is very similar in dose and clinical behavior to BOTOX made by Allergan.  While Xeomin is widely available to licensed physicians in the United States, it is generally not available to non physicians.  Bocouture is not FDA approved for the United States.

in the US we dont have bocouture but its basically the same as botox (well xeomin in the US).  you just need to go to someone experienced.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Bocouture is a name used in Europe for the same product in the United States that is called Xeomin.  In my opinion, it is safe if used correctly.  The number of units of Botox used would be the same for Bocouture.
